Council staff attack Rangers fan

Both Archbigot Mario Conti and historian Professor Tom Devine (he of Celtic-Minded fame) have made the outlandish claim (lie) that sectarianism in Scotland is a one way street and a euphemism for "anti-Catholicism".

This is how dangerous these people are. Not one politician, media person or "bigotry industry specialist" has ever taken these two to task for this fascist lie. Of course not one mainstream Scottish tabloid considered reporting the above attack. Now if it had been a Celtic fan beaten and bullied? Well we all know the answer to that one - don't we?

Binman was beaten with shovel in sectarian attack at rubbish tip

Dec 7 2009 By Janice Burns

A BINMAN was battered with a shovel by sectarian workmates after they found out he was a Rangers fan.

The man, who is in his early 20s, endured months of sectarian abuse at the hands of Celtic supporting colleagues before he was attacked at a rubbish tip.

North Lanarkshire Council have launched a probe after the young dad reported the assault to police. The dad-of-one, from Airdrie, suffered broken ribs in the attack. Last night, Strathclyde Police confirmed they were investigating the assault.

Sources told the Record that a gang of Republican sympathisers working at the council refuse collection depot in Lanarkshire preyed on the young man. An insider said: "This cannot be allowed to happen in this day and age when sectarianism is condemned.

"The poor lad had no idea how bad it was when he joined the council.

"He used to eat his lunch with them but couldn't stand the anti-Protestant and Rangers rants so he started eating in his car.

"Then they found out he was a Rangers fan and that was the start of the victimisation and bullying. "He would go to work every day and get abused. He was told that if he reported it he would be out of a job." The young man was assaulted in a revenge attack after a Rangers victory.

His colleagues drove him to a secluded spot on a rubbish tip and attacked him with a shovel, breaking his ribs. The insider said: "He didn't want to tell the police at first but his family convinced him to do the right thing and report it because they wanted to put a stop to it."

The victim has now been moved to another depot for his own safety. North Lanarkshire Council confirmed an investigation was under way.

Not being a "pinko", "communist" or even woman with red hair hopefully you'll let this comment through:)

First, when quoting from a newspaper a link would be handy, obviously I did find the original in the DR but I'd have saved myself a bit of time if you'd put a link in.

Secondly, by all means cover stories like this but be very careful but ploughing straight in with the kind of title you got there. Say the "Police are investigating...", wait till the final decision comes out and *then* go in with the full whammy. Owise you run the risk of legal trouble.

If you want/need any more info email me at the address over at my own blog.

OT but it's an indication of the mire Labour are in that they are being trounced by the SNP on a poll on a Unionist site.

I see the BNP are opposing Catholic schools too. Says it all really...

Can someone remind me what the BNP and RC schools have to do with someone being attacked with a shovel?

Not one word of condemnation of an attack on a person because of the football team he supports. Bigots like you have to be opposed and stood up to and I'll do just that.

A man is beaten with a shovel, yet remains in his job? If the attacker had swapped roles, would this still have happened?

You are a facist who hates the truth about Scotland and it's nasty little secrets.

With you unionists it always doom and gloom. Why not look on the brightside of life for a change. Try pretending it's not the sabbath everyday and realise maybe his mates could have done him a favour by managing to knock some sense into the boy.

I believe the last comment shows the depths of hatred some people have for the Unionist community in Scotland.

Then again, I suppose the same could have been said when Neil Lennon was viciously assaulted.

One rule for one in Republican Schotland.
